We're Not Just Marching, We're Making a Statement
This WorldPride, the ECC is turning our parade float into a powerful platform for love and resistance. In response to anti-equality legislation in nine states, we’ll marry nine LGBTQ+ couples live during the parade—a public celebration of love, visibility, and the economic power of inclusion.
Love is good for business—and equality is non-negotiable.

Bringing Pride to Life: Meet Scenic Designer August Henney
ECC is proud to spotlight one of our talented members, August Henney, for generously donating his time and artistic expertise to help bring our 2025 Pride Float to life. With a Master of Fine Arts in Scenic Design from the University of Maryland and a dual B.S. in Human Physiology and Theatre Arts from the University of Oregon, August blends technical skill with theatrical magic.
His past design credits include The Figs (Rorschach Theatre), Flyin’ West (Prince George's Community College), and Metamorphoses (University of Maryland), among many others. August has also assisted renowned scenic designer Timothy Mackabee on major productions including Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 and Fosse at the Minskoff.
We’re honored to have August’s creative brilliance shaping ECC’s presence in this year’s Pride celebration.
